Programs

Our Programs

Infant Program (6 weeks–18 months)

Our Infant Program provides a calm, nurturing environment where babies build secure attachment and trust with their caregivers. Each day includes gentle routines, language-rich interactions, sensory exploration, tummy time, and support for important developmental milestones, all at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for each child.

Toddler Program

In our Toddler Program, children learn through exploration, play, and movement in a setting designed for busy, curious minds. Daily experiences with music, art, and guided discovery help toddlers develop communication, problem‑solving skills, motor skills, independence, and early social skills while having fun and feeling supported.

Preschool Program

Our Preschool Program prepares children for kindergarten through a blend of structured learning and creative play. Children build skills in reading readiness, writing, math, science, art, music, and technology, while social‑emotional learning and outdoor play help them practice cooperation, self‑regulation, and confidence in a classroom setting.

Before & After School Care

Before & After School Care offers a safe, supportive space for school‑age children outside regular school hours. Students receive homework assistance and academic enrichment, enjoy healthy snacks, games, outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, and character‑building activities that round out their day in a positive way.

Questions Parents Often Ask

It’s very common for children to feel unsure at first, and we treat this as a normal part of development, not a problem. We use gentle, consistent routines, a warm welcome, and one main caregiver to build trust. We stay calm, offer comfort, and guide parents through short, predictable goodbyes, so children learn that daycare is a safe place and that their parents always come back.

We expect big feelings and busy behaviour in young children, and we focus on teaching rather than punishing. When a child struggles, we first make sure they are safe, then help them calm down and name their feelings. We set clear, age-appropriate boundaries, use positive reinforcement, and show children what to do instead (using “teaching moments” rather than shame or harsh consequences).

Parents worry their child might get “lost in the crowd.” We plan the day so each child has moments of one‑to‑one or small‑group connection with a caregiver—through play, reading, or check‑ins. Staff are trained to notice changes in mood, energy, and behaviour, and to respond with extra support when a child seems tired, overwhelmed, or needs reassurance.

Learning to share, take turns, and use kind words takes time and practice. We model respectful language, coach children through conflicts step by step, and design activities that naturally encourage cooperation rather than competition. When disagreements happen, we guide both children to express themselves, listen to each other, and find solutions, so social skills grow in real situations, not just in theory.

“From the very first tour, we knew Harvest Academy Childcare was the right place for our daughter. The teachers are patient, kind, and truly pay attention to who she is as a person. She talks about her friends, her teachers, and the activities every day, and we’ve seen her confidence and language skills grow so much since enrolling.”

“As working parents, it was important for us to find a center that felt safe and genuinely supportive. The daily updates and photos help us feel close to our son’s day, even when we’re at the office. The staff is easy to talk to and always willing to explain routines or discuss any concerns. We can see a real difference in his social skills, independence, and love for learning.”
